Super Dad

“If you had asked me 10 years ago, I would have said, ‘One that involves travelling.’ I stopped school when I was in 5th grade. I was the sixth child in a family with 9 children. My parents couldn’t support all of us so I spent most of my time with my lola. Now I have kids of my own, a 4-year old girl and a 7-month old little man. I haven’t really thought about what I would want my kids to be in the future. They could be anything they want. All I care about is that I’d be able to help them finish college and be there when they fulfill their dreams. This job doesn’t pay much so when I get out at 3PM, I swap the suit and broom with a helmet and a motorcycle. And with that, I transform into a habal-habal driver at JY Square. I’ve done all sorts of work before this too. I had to. From tending to flowers in a farm to being a security guard and a salesman at an appliance store. From lifting heavy machinery in a steel fabricating shop to crawling through caves to mine for gold. I’d do anything, go through any decent work so I can provide for my family because that’s how it should be. That’s how I want it to be. So what’s my dream job, you ask? I’m already living it now and I wouldn’t have it any other way – A Super Dad to my kids.”
